Handgun familiarization / preparatory & introduction course

This course has been developed as result of client requests and suggestions.

Course length: 6 hours
Cost: $95.00
General course intent: This is a preparatory course for the person that possesses limited to no knowledge or experience with handguns and desires to attend the CCW course or the PD1A (Pistol #1). This course is designed to assist the new shooter as well as introduce the handgun and its many diverse variants to the client. This is a smooth paced, patient and thorough familiarization to the handgun and its many types of systems and designs.
Objective: increase proficiency, confidence, understanding / knowledge, ability of the individual and or interested person relative to the handgun.
Topics to be covered: Weapon safety, design & intent, historical perspective of the handgun, introduction to operation of pistols, holster selection, types of equipment and considerations of the same, selection of caliber of weapons, basic firing stances, grip and hands on inter-active live fire range exercises.
Dates: To be announced, generally this class is held the week before our CCW course to allow students time to correct equipment deficiencies and absorb the training prior to embarking on the CCW course.

California Concealed Carry class

Course length: 8 hours minimum
Cost: $125.00
General course intent: Meet or exceed the state of California DOJ standard & required training for permit to carry a concealed handgun in the state of California.
Objective: Understand the concerns, legal responsibilities, liability, relative issues regarding the concealed carry permit and weapon. Define the foundational rules of firearms safety. Qualify on the IMTT prescribed course of fire and written examination with a score 75% or above.
Topics to be covered: Brandishing 417, lethal use of force under California penal code sections 196, 197, 198 and 198.5. Overview of the CPC section 12050, “Conditions of issuance”, pre & post incident management, application process, explanation of good cause, recommended safe carry methods, proper manipulation, malfunction clearance and much more.

Multi-state Concealed Carry class

Course length: 8 hours minimum
Cost: $175.00
General course intent: Meet or exceed the state of Utah and Florida standards & required training for permit to carry a concealed handgun in these respective jurisdictions.
Objective: Understand the concerns, legal responsibilities, liability, relative issues regarding the concealed carry permit and weapon specific to the state of Utah and Florida. Know and understand which of the 30 states that except the concealed permit in question and the specific requirements of each state. Define the foundational rules of firearms safety. Pass the written examination with a score 75% or above.
Topics to be covered: Overview of the laws of issuance in respective states, use of lethal force standards, castle law, general conditions of issuance, pre & post incident management, specific state application process, assistance in submission of application, explanation of cause as stated by the respective state and much more.

Personal Defense PD1A (Pistol # 1)

Course length: 16 hours
Cost: $295.00
General course intent: Prepare the student to employ and deploy the concealed firearm in the defensive role. This course of instruction is focused on personal defense and use of the handgun in this role. All will benefit, from the most experienced shooter to the new user. No experience required!
Topics covered: Weapon selection, basic wound ballistics, accessories, equipment, speed loads, tactical reloads, malfunctions clearance drills, shooting on the move, personal protective measures, mental conditioning for conflict and much more.
